Design Details and Benefits
- Sequin coverage: both pieces are fully covered in sequins rather than sequin trim on a plain base.
- Flared skirt shape: gathered at the waist for movement, rather than a straight pencil cut.
- Contrast bound trim: edges the bra cups and skirt waistband in a solid colour against the sequins.
- Adjustable hip clips: let the skirt waistband be adjusted rather than a fixed elastic only.
- Honest limitation: sequin fabric is stiffer than a standard jersey or lace base, so movement and stretch are more limited.
The flared, gathered cut of the skirt is what gives it movement despite the stiffer sequin fabric - a straight-cut sequin skirt would sit much more rigidly.
