The holographic vinyl is the whole point. A plain purple satin set would look like something you already own; this surface shifts as you turn, which is why it reads as a night piece. The heart buckle and the open mini keep it from looking like a closed dress. Worth knowing: the mini is very short and the front is open, so this is not modest coverage. If you want a closed skirt or a matt fabric, this isn't the one.
