The ruffled edge along the bandeau top is doing more work than it looks. A plain bandeau can read a little flat side-on, especially in a soft print like this one, so the small ruffle gives the top edge a defined line instead of a straight cut. It also has a thin looped tie at the centre front, which softens the strapless line without adding a strap across the shoulder. Worth knowing before you order: without straps, a bandeau top relies on a snug fit around the ribcage rather than the shoulders, so if you're between sizes, sizing up is the safer call here.
