Design Details and Benefits
- Button placket runs collar to hem - gives the knit structure down the centre instead of a plain pull-over neckline
- Ribbed trim at the cuffs and hem - stops a lightweight knit from losing its shape after a few wears
The placket is doing more work than it looks like. Most striped knits are pulled over the head, so the pattern lines only ever line up because the fabric happens to sit flat that day. A full row of buttons running collar to hem means it opens flat instead, so the stripes stay level down the front rather than shifting sideways when you move. Worth knowing before you order: it's a fitted cut with long sleeves, so it works better for cooler days or under a coat than for a warm afternoon.
