Design Details and Benefits
- Pintucks from below the bust into the waist - add structure to a light weave that could otherwise look shapeless
- Beaded ties at the V - are a small finishing detail so the neckline does not look unfinished
The waist tucks are what make this sleeveless midi dress more than a simple linen-look shift. Without them the oatmeal weave would fall straight and lose the waist. Pulling those narrow folds into the middle gives you a fitted upper half and then lets the skirt open, which is why the pockets sit cleanly at the side. The photo is front-facing, so we are going by the ties and tucks we can see rather than any unseen back fastening. If you want a tight, short party dress, this isn't the one. If you want a covered midi for easy days, it is.
