Design Details and Benefits
- Seamed bodice - the structure sits in the seams, so the print has a shape at the waist
- Gathered mini rather than a pencil - you get movement at the hem without losing the fitted top
- Matching print through bodice and skirt - one motif, not a colour-block two-tone
The bodice is why this isn't just another printed sundress. Vertical seams give it a corset-like hold at the waist, then the skirt is allowed to flare, which is the opposite of a straight mini. That's also how it differs from the midi in a similar print: shorter hem, more flare, same sweetheart idea. Worth knowing: the hem is mid-thigh, so coverage is low at the leg. If you want a midi or maxi in this print language, that's a different dress. Coverage at the bust is moderate; the sweetheart is open.
