Design Details and Benefits
- Collar sitting at the neck, not sewn into the cups - lets the tie read as a costume detail rather than a print on the bust
- Black middle between plaid cups and plaid skirt - gives the eye a rest so the pattern has somewhere to stop
The collar is the reason to pick this over a plain plaid mini. A lot of costume pieces print a tiny tie on the cups and call it done, so the neck still looks like lingerie. Setting a real collar and a short black tie at the throat is what makes it read as a uniform the moment you put it on. Worth knowing before you order: the skirt is very short, and the cups are a lingerie cut, so coverage is low through the bust and the thigh. If you want a proper shirt and a knee-length skirt, this isn't that costume.
