The batwing sleeve is the detail that sets this apart from a standard knit top: cut wide at the shoulder and tapering toward the wrist, it drapes rather than fits, so there's no pulling across your arms when you move. The trade-off is that it isn't a fitted, structured shape, so if you want something close to the body, this leans loose instead. That looseness is exactly what makes it easy for you to throw over a bikini or a vest underneath without thinking about sizing too carefully.
