The side drawstrings are the detail that earns the third piece. A plain mini would sit like a tube. Pulling the ties gathers the skirt at the hip and shortens the look, which is why it still feels like swimwear rather than a separate wrap. The skirt is short and the fabric sits tight, so if you want a long cover-up this isn't the one. You'll still see the brief straps at the hip when you hold the skirt, which is how the three pieces sit together.
