The hem band is doing more work than it looks. A floral that runs all the way to the cut edge can feel unfinished; stopping it on a solid strip makes the midi read as designed rather than cropped. The A-line is the second choice: the bodice stays close so the volume lives in the skirt, which is what you want on a warm day when you still need to walk. Worth knowing: this is a midi with a full skirt, not a bodycon and not a maxi. If you want a floor-length hem or a close mini, this isn't the one.
